This is the most important question you can
ever ask.
This exact question was posed to the Apostle
Paul in Acts 16:30.
Paul's response was "Believe on the
Lord Jesus Christ".
In 1 John 4:10 the Bible tells us "Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation ( sacrifice ) for our sins."
"For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten ( one of a kind ) Son, that whosoever Believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life". John 3:16
Jesus Christ died on the cross bearing the judgment of God for your sins! And having therefore completed the job, He then arose from the dead three days later. see 1Cor. 15: 3-4
But what part does my personal works play ? Thankfully none!
Two men came to Jesus in John
6:28-29 . "Then said they unto him , What shall we do that
we might do the works of God?" Jesus answered them,
"This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he has sent".
Notice these men wanted to know what
they could do to please God. Jesus told them God does the
work, they just believe in God's redeeming work.
"For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God, being justified freely by his Grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus" Rom 3:23-24
"For by Grace ( undeserved favor ) are ye saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, its a gift of God, not of works, lest any man should boast." Eph 2:8-9
Psalms 14:1-3 says "The fool
has said in his heart that there is no God. They are corrupt, they
have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.
The Lord looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there
were any that did understand, and seek God. They are all
gone aside, they are all together become filthy; there is none
that doeth good, no, not one."
"He that believeth on him is not condemned; but he that believeth not is condemned already because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God". John 3:18
"He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life; and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abideth on him. John 3:36
"Not by works of righteousness which we
have done, but according to his mercy He saved us ..."
Titus 3:5
God will judge ALL sin.
God loves you and has made His salvation available to all. Jesus Christ died on the cross bearing your punishment. Believe that personally, and be saved.
2Cor 5:21 God made him who had no
sin (Jesus Christ) to be sin for us, so that in him we might
become the righteousness of God. (NIV)
God didn't try to get by as cheaply as he could in your salvation; he sent His very best. God loves us. Don't pass into eternity yet in your sins.
Pray to God: "God, I am a sinner, and I accept Jesus Christ as my personal savior from my sins."
