Santa Claus Trains


This year Mr. & Mrs. Saint Nick returned to the HV and greeted the youngsters on the train.

Children have an oppurtunity to talk with Santa and even pose in a photo with him.

Patrons find the station and the coaches festively decorated for Christmas

Trainman Mike Toole checks with former NYC engineer Earl Defenbaugh before departing the station.

Once the train has departed the Station Master takes a moment to replace a bulb.

This ex-B&O coach was later converted for work train duty by Chessie.
Currently it's being repainted, ultimately to be colored red & lettered B&O.

This old coaling tipple is one of  very few left standing.

The HV is about to 'drop-in'  a switch into the #3 engine house track.
Soon a new track will run between these buildings for MofW equipment.

Sept. 1, 2001 - Special Caboose Train

Crews talk about the days operations as two trains set at the Station

the Special is the first to leave the Station, seen just North of  highway 278
