My  Personal  Photos of  the
Indiana & Ohio Railroad

The  Indiana and Ohio railroad  was absorbed into the Railtex regional railroad a few years ago.
The  I&O's  main office was in Cincinnati Ohio, with a satellite office in Logan Ohio.    Logan is
where the C&O's  ( later Chessie System ) line from Columbus split with one leg going South to
Pomeroy ( aka "Pumpkin vine" subdivision ).   The other leg passing thru Nelsonville, into
Athens.    It  was at  Nelsonville that  I started  watching  trains,  about 1972.

The I&O also operated a  ex-B&O branchline from Hamden (near McArthur Ohio ) to
Oakhill ( near Jackson ).  This brachline intercepted the former  B&O  Washington D.C.
to  St.Louis  mainline at Hamden.   Later all this was sold to the Great Miami & Scioto RR.
